Pennington County Vacation Home Rental (VHR) License

Pennington County, SD – Effective June 26, 2024, all Vacation Home Rentals operating in Pennington County (outside the jurisdiction of an incorporated municipality), will require a license to operate. Existing VHRs that have an approved Conditional Use Permit (previous requirements) will have until their review to obtain a license.  For any new VHR's, the County is giving a 30-day grace period.  Application and information on the requirements, fees and penalties can be found on the County’s website at www.pennco.org under the Planning Department.  Please contact the Planning Department at plz@pennco.org or (605) 394-2186 with any questions.

ANDERSON ROAD CLOSURE

Due to project delays, Anderson Road will continue to be closed until further notice to through traffic for water and sewer line work from approximately 0.7 miles south of Long View Road to SD Highway 44.

Morris Lane will be closed at the intersection of Anderson Road.

This closure is detailed on the Pennington County Public Safety Hub map which can be found at www.pennco.org/publicsafetyhub.

2024 Hours of Operation

The Pennington County Administration Building is open for public service Monday through Thursday offering extended hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. The Building will be closed to public access on Fridays.
