Happy 45th Anniversary to the man that started it all here at Best Insurance, Gary Best! August 15, 1978 he began his entrepreneurial dream by starting his own independent insurance agency. He started out of his home in the early days and moved to his first office in Blakeslee. He then traveled across the street in Blakeslee to his 2nd office as, wait for it, that location featured a restroom! This would allow his trips to Sam's Place to use their restroom to stop and put a silence to the rumors that he must have a drinking problem. 😉 In 1994 he bought his first building in Edon and relocated to our current address. In 2001, while the bank was tearing down an old restaurant they had purchased he had them tear down his office as well. While temporarily operating out of an office across the street, Thiel Construction built the beautiful office we call home today! This man has been through it all. Times were very hard in the beginning years but he never stopped pursuing his dream of growing his agency and becoming a trusted local leader in the insurance industry all while providing for his family. His wisdom, knowledge and his endless pursuit of taking care of his customers, whom he calls his friends, is one of the most admirable things about him! He constantly gives to his community and surrounding areas because he knows without them he would have never succeeded. We are very fortunate to continue to learn from "The Wizard" He will tell you he's never worked a day in the last 45 years because when you love what you do it's not work!
